Attention Expats Living Abroad!
If you have a Filipina Wife, Fiancee', or Girlfriend living in Cebu, and you live abroard for extended periods of time, or if you travel occasionally, the Marling Beach Lodge is a safe and secure alternative to living in a boarding house. We created a budget friendly living area (female only) to be shared by 2 to 4 girls. This area will provide some peace-of-mind for our expat friends that need to leave their loved one occasionally.
The rooms have a private CR with shower and sink, a sitting area for the ladies, a small fridge, and we have units available with air-conditioning. We provide 24 hour security 7 days a week with our two guards that live on the premises. The restaurant is available for all of their meals, with prices equal to a carinderia. The market in Liloan is only a 10-15 minute walk, where they can buy fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, and meat. Our lodge is a very economical alternative to the small, crowded, and sometimes un-safe living conditions that exist at boarding houses. And the bonus is, they can enjoy all the amenities that we offer here at the Marlin Beach Lodge.
Choosing Expat Health Insurance
As a foreigner visiting or living in the Philippines, you have to be prepared physically, mentally, financially and emotionally for the challenges and adventures that you will have. An important item to include on your list is to get expat health insurance. Having a health insurance plan will eliminate some stress in case something unexpected happens during one of your trips.
When choosing expat health insurance, there are some things that you should consider. Just like most people who buy health insurance, one of the first things is the cost. The price of expat health insurance varies from one person to another. The quote is based on the age of the person, the location, the type of coverage that you choose and if you have any pre-existing conditions. The presence of pre-existing conditions could make your expat health insurance quote higher than that of a person without any health issues.
Get an insurance company that you can trust. Ask the company how long they have been in business. Ask for papers as proof. For recommendations on expat health insurance companies, you may ask your friends, check out the expat forums, or consult the embassy of your country.
If you currently have health insurance in your home country, ask if they offer an international plan. Some insurance companies will allow you to extend your coverage to another country.
When choosing an expat health insurance company, inquire on the terms when having your treatment. Can you choose your own doctor or do you just have to go to the doctors and hospitals that are affiliated with the expat health insurance company? Request information on how to file a claim. Make sure you understand the process and ask questions if you do not understand the procedure.
When traveling internationally, it is important to be prepared for emergencies, and having expat health insurance to cover any health issues is always a good idea.
